The Rio Ferdinand Foundation’s (RFF) mission is to inspire and enable young people to reach their potential by providing education and employment pathways.

The Rio Ferdinand Foundation’s (RFF) mission is to inspire and enable young people to reach their potential by providing education and employment pathways.

Through their work with young people, RFF’s vision is to create confident and skilled individuals who are able to tap into their talents to build a brighter future for themselves. RFF believe that with the right support, role models and opportunities, young people can achieve great things.

The work of the Rio Ferdinand Foundation has three key objectives:

1. To use role models to inspire young people and develop their skills and confidence through education, sports and the arts.

2. To work with a network of strategic partners to support young people, act as their mentors, and enable them to access employment opportunities and pathways relevant to their skills and talents.

3. To develop young people as peer role models in order to address important personal, social and economic issues, enabling them to build a brighter future for themselves and their communities.

Jason Roberts Foundation

The Jason Roberts Foundation (JRF) Supports young people in challenging situations; Celebrates diversity in all its forms; and Respects the individual regardless of background or circumstance.

The Jason Roberts Foundation (JRF) Supports young people in challenging situations; Celebrates diversity in all its forms; and Respects the individual regardless of background or circumstance.

Guided by the belief that sport, when used correctly, can provide a perfect platform to challenge stereotypes, build understanding and develop friendships with people from all backgrounds, religions and cultures, JRF provides educational and sporting opportunities for children and young people in the UK and Grenada.

Their key objectives in their work with young people are: 

  • To deliver positive activities and train role models in the heart of our communities to support young people regardless of background or circumstance.
  • To embed equality, diversity and respect as a part of the cultural fabric of sport, the workplace and society at large and celebrate the contributions of those varied groups.
  • To provide workshops and accredited training to coaches, youth workers and volunteers to become role models for equality, diversity and respect.

Active Communities Network

Active Communities Network (ACN) is the lead partner within the 5 Star Active network, and takes on a management and quality assurance function for the Partnership.

Active Communities Network (ACN) is the lead partner within the 5 Star Active network, and takes on a management and quality assurance function for the Partnership.  Partnerships are at the heart of ACN’s approach as they work with like-minded funders, strategic partners and delivery agencies to ensure maximum returns for the young people and communities they support whilst avoiding duplication of services and resources.

ACN is a registered charity with a long history in the youth and community development sector.  Their works’ mission is to tackle poverty and social deprivation at the heart of neighbourhoods by delivering grassroots projects, primarily through the mediums of sport and cultural activity, with highly trained and multi-skilled staff. Through this methodology, their vision of engaging, supporting, mentoring and progressing young people into education, training and employment is realised. 

With national offices in London, Belfast and Cape Town, ACN have extensive experience of managing national and international programmes on behalf of corporates, government and grant-making agencies.

Achieve Potentials

Achieve Potentials are experienced in delivering a wide range of educational, cultural and sporting activities together with workforce training

Achieve Potentials are experienced in delivering a wide range of educational, cultural and sporting activities together with workforce training, including a range of training and engagement opportunities for disabled people, and for those involved in providing inclusive services. Essentially there are three key elements to the services provided by Achieve Potentials.
1. Youth engagement
2. Disability inclusion and awareness
3. Workforce development and training
AP’s objectives are to develop the capacity and skills of the members of the socially and economically disadvantaged communities of Yorkshire, the surrounding areas and the UK in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet, their needs and to participate more fully in society. To act as a resource for young people up to the age of 25 by providing advice and assistance and organising programmes of physical, educational and other activities as a means of advancing life and building skills; advancing education; relieving unemployment; and providing positive activities in the interest of social welfare.

Flying Futures

Flying Futures is a Social Business that supports young people to ‘get on’ in Society.

Flying Futures is a Social Business that supports young people to ‘get on’ in Society.
They are a non for profit Community Interest Company that manages and delivers a range of Social programmes across Yorkshire, the North East and Humberside to bring about effective change to communities. This is done primarily (though not exclusively) through the use of sports, mentoring, training and employment and citizenship programmes with Children and Young People aged between 5 and 25 years of age.

Big World Impact

Big World Impact’s mission is to Educate, Empower and Sustain.  Through the work of the charity their long term aim is to develop and deliver sustainable programmes that have a positive impact on the local community in Portsmouth.

Big World Impact’s mission is to Educate, Empower and Sustain.  Through the work of the charity their long term aim is to develop and deliver sustainable programmes that have a positive impact on the local community in Portsmouth.
Creating Opportunities – BWI are working with local communities in the Leigh Park area to deliver an enriched programme for young people, aged primarily between 9 and 19 years old. The programme consists of sport/outdoor activities such as football, hockey, touch rugby, archery and sailing, as well as an Arts and Cultural programme.  The range of activities will aid the personal and social development of young people of Leigh Park.

Positive Youth Foundation

The Positive Youth Foundation provides opportunities for young people to reach their full potential.

The Positive Youth Foundation provides opportunities for young people to reach their full potential. Their grass-roots research and delivery enables them to support young people and advocate on behalf of the youth and community sector.
PYF work with like-minded organisations to help build capacity and resource.
Their strap-line says it all…. they work with young people, taking them beyond engagement and towards positive lifestyle choices.
PYF aim to raise aspirations – so they use sport, leisure, creative education, mentoring and cultural programmes to work with young people and partners who are most in need of support.
